There are many things that cross our mind when we look in our past. We can be aware
of one or many tragedies that have or are occurring in our world almost on a daily
basis. We can remember our own experience of our successes and the times when we
have not measured up to the task which was laid before us. Whatever it is that keeps
us somewhat stifled, there is a grace that God wants to give us – a grace of moving on.
Today is a new day. We can look out our window and see the wonders of the world in
which we participate. God has given us the gift of today. Christ wants to be a part of
everything that happens in our day. His presence in the Blessed Sacrament is a special
way God comes to us but not the only way. He is present to us in the turning of the
seasons. God is with us in the short period before winter with the trees bedecked in all
of their beauty in red, orange, yellow leaves here in the Midwest in the USA and in the
beauty in all parts of the world where you live. These are signs that nature moves on.
We too need to move on to the next season on the path to our destiny. God wants to
be with us in the everyday experiences that lead us on the way.

• Do you feel perplexed by the situations in our world or in your own life?

• What part does humility play in facing reality?

• What helps you to move on and bring God with you into a new day?

God, give me your presence as I experience a new day in my life.
