When we think about our life and who we are, it probably will not come to us in abstract
ideas. Rather weighing into the meaning and purpose of our lives might come by telling our
story.
A story usually has a beginning, a middle and an end. It usually contains a description of a
setting, where it takes place and the circumstances around which the story can begin. After
describing some normal events, it might evolve into an unexpected occurrence that manifests
itself as an obstacle that needs to be dealt with. It is the accepting or overcoming of this
obstacle that says something about who we are and who we are meant to be. The story ends
with a satisfying conclusion.
Jesus came into our world as one of us. He proclaimed the Kingdom of God. Some were able
to trust him and accept his message. Others rejected his claim to such an extent that it led to
his horrible death. But this obstacle was overcome by the resurrection, which brought new
life to his followers. This fantastic story captivates the hearts of countless people as it has
been told and celebrated over the centuries.
