Each day is a new day. We can bid yesterday “Good bye.” Some people do not say, “Good
morning, God.” They say, “Good God, morning.” A person with a contemplative heart has
another response. Each day presents an opportunity to experience God in new ways. If
we put ourselves into God’s hands and reflect on God’s love for us, anything can happen.
Yes, sometimes the issues of yesterday can bleed into today, but we can meet them with
new eyes, new energy, a greater trust that brings about a breakthrough. When we bring
God into the equation, many things can be resolved and sometimes even by themselves
without our intervention. This does not mean that all suffering and pain will automatically
be eliminated, but we will be able to bear it because Christ who suffered and died for us
will be at our side or more accurately, in our hearts.
Each new day begins with the rising of the sun whether it is visible or not. The darkness
that pervaded the night gives way to new possibilities.
Good Morning, God!
- How do you greet the new day?
- Are you open to receive God’s love for you as the day begins?
- Are you willing to put the experiences of today into God’s hands?
O God, give me the grace to let my day be a gift to you.
