Many times we forget to start our morning without first thanking God for the gift of life. Our God is the creator of our life and the source of each breath that we breathe. By taking time to be grateful to God, we begin our day on a wavelength the puts us in touch with God throughout our day. Many have this insight when they say, “Have a blessed day.”
Acknowledging God as creator leads us to the great mystery that Christ wants to live within us. St. Paul reminds us that “It is not I that live but Christ who lives in me.” We share with Christ in his sonship. “This is my beloved in whom I am well pleased. Our “Thank you” allows this awareness to not only experience Christ’s presence buy also allows him to act though us. We become like a clear windowpane through which the sun can shine.
When these insights become a reality for us, the grace from the Holy Spirit will help us live the full Christian life with greater ease not relying so completely on our fallible ego with its possible deceptions.
At first, we begin with, “Thank you, God.”
