In celebrating Our Lord’s resurrection, we gain the assurance ever more and more, that
life will go on after death. Our hearts will lead us to that love which will last forever.
That life begins now if we would only let it blossom in our lives. What it requires is to
let the resurrected life become real. God wants us to experience it in new ways as we
grow in our spiritual awareness. God sometimes jolts us by placing in our lives
problems that seem unsolvable. But from the darkness of these “deaths”, new life can
rise, not necessarily from our own efforts but from the God who can change
circumstances “in the twinkling of an eye.” As we experience this process over and
over again, we can begin to have the peace of mind that only God can give. With this
peace comes an unexpected joy – an Easter joy that rises from the life, death, and
resurrection of Christ.
Our task is to share this joy with those who are especially experiencing the darkness of
these days. We do this not only by preaching but by witnessing like the first disciples
of Christ who became “the Followers of the Way.”
• What does the celebration of Easter mean to you?
• Are you open to receive this new resurrected life?
• Where is God leading you now?
O God, help me live this new resurrected life.
