In life there are many uncertainties. We live much of our lives wondering what will
happen next. We see problems in our relationships, problems in politics, wars and
rumors of wars, global warming, injustices of every type. How can one person make a
difference?
The first followers of Jesus were also confused. What did some of the parables that
Jesus told have to do with their lives? When Jesus asked them, “Who do you say that I
am?”, only Peter could give him an answer. Did they really understand Jesus’ mission?
Gradually they gained enough trust to continue to follow him even without the
knowledge of where this was going to lead. They were content to do the things Jesus
asked them to do.
When we put our trust in God, we will not have all of the answers to the problems of
this world. But with this trust, God will lead us to take the next step. With God having
our back, how could we go wrong. We will let the uncertainty of life be left in God’s
hands and with that will come a peace because “God will not let us face our perils
alone.”
