It is especially important to celebrate birthdays. Just as we celebrate the birth of Jesus at Christmas, we know how special a day that is. The birth of Christ means that the infinite God has chosen to put on human flesh in order to be with us. Something similar could be said at our birth. God has loved God’s creation so much the like a mother and a father, God has chosen to bring to life something unique when God created us. We have the opportunity of discovering the love God has for us with ability to discern our purpose in life according to God’s plan.
We can celebrate graduations, weddings. promotions all depending on our own performance, but it is in celebrating our birthday that we recognize the love and gift that God has given us. This should make it a priority. In real way birthdays can be celebrated often when we acknowledge the gift of life that God has given us.
